Ray Reed Snyder, age 76 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at his residence.
He retired after working 14 years at Henry County Co-Op, where he was involved in tire repair. Ray also was a grounds crew member for the Cleveland Indians, where he was part of the 1963 All-Star Game. He later worked in the auxiliary police force in Willowick, OH, in the early 1970’s. Ray was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed family gatherings in the Smokey Mountains, fishing, muscle cars, and music. He was Baptist by belief and a U.S. Army veteran.
Ray was born July 31, 1944 in Cleveland, OH, to the late, Leo Reed Snyder, and Rose Elizabeth Skraba Snyder.
He was married on February 20, 1971, to his wife of 50 years, Nicki Snyder, who survives, of Paris.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two children, Marcie (Justin) McIntosh of Paris, and Chris Snyder of Paris; two grandchildren, Cain (Brooklyn Page) Edwards of Paris, and Riley McIntosh of Paris; one great grandchild, Branson Edwards of Paris; two nephews, Steve (Maureen) Fischer of San Diego, CA, and Ed Fischer of Cleveland, OH; one great niece, Meara Fischer of San Diego, CA; and one great nephew, Christopher Brennan of Aurora, CO.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Fischer.
Arrangements are being handle by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242. The body is to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021, from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm at his daughter’s house at 211 South Blakemore Street, Paris, TN 398242.
