Randall Joe “Randy” Nance, age 65, of Springfield, KY, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family following a brief illness.
Randy was born in Paris, TN, on November 16, 1958, to Billy Joe and Linda Lemonds Nance.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a master’s degree in economics from Middle Tennessee State University. Randy was dedicated to his Christian faith and was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ Church in Paris, TN.
Randy married his wife, Kimberly Jones, in 2001, during their 23 years of marriage, they had two amazing children, Celia and Roy, whom he adored. Always encouraging them to be kind and giving people, he was excited to see how they were growing and their interests.
Randy’s life was rich with interests and passions. He loved all aspects of nature. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, and raising Hereford beef cattle. He had a keen interest in politics and was an active member of the Washington County Democrats. His commitment to his community was evident in his service as a board member of the Springfield-Washington County Economic Development Association. After a distinguished career, he retired as the Vice President of Administration for Toyotomi America in 2009, in which he played a pivotal role in the construction and launch in 1999. Randy took great pride in the economic impacts he influenced, including the many jobs created and careers that he was blessed to influence. He was very proud of the contributions to have companies locate to Washington County and the expansion of the industrial park.
His legacy is one of dedication, service and a deep love for his friends, community and most especially his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, as he has entered the gates of Heaven triumphantly from his earthly journey.
Randy is survived by his wife, Kimberly; his children, Celia and Roy all of Springfield, KY; his mother, Linda Lemonds Nance of Paris, TN; two brothers, Kenneth Nance and Gary (Deana) Nance both of Paris, TN; several nieces, nephews and one grandniece.
Out-of-town arrangements are being handled by Carey & Son Funeral Home, 216 E Main Street, Springfield, KY 40069. Visitation will be Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at Carey & Son Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm with Rev. Rick Bailey and Rev. Amy Call officiating.
Local arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10:00 am at Walker Cemetery in Paris, TN, with Gary Collier officiating.
Burial will follow the graveside service in Walker Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hosparus Green River or the Kentucky Blood Center, a cause Randy felt strongly in being a lifelong blood and organ donor.
