Clara Rachel Jones Johnson

Clara Rachel Jones Johnson, age 94 of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at her residence.

She was a homemaker most of her life and member of Ray of Hope Christian Fellowship in Paris. Rachel loved running around & spending time with her friends.

Rachel was born September 5, 1929, in Albany, KY, to the late Hobson Brown and the late Ruby Gibbons Brown.

She was married April 20, 1946, to Cecil Jones, who preceded her in death on October 16, 1982.

She is survived by her seven children, Jerry (Brenda) Jones of Albany, KY, Bobbie (Bob) Williams of Peru, IN, Sissy Johnson of Fortville, IN, Betty (Dennis) Irby of Big Sandy, TN, Bill Jones of Paris, TN, Judy (Bob) Ledlow of Paris, TN, and Ann (Tony) AuBuchon of Paris, TN; two sisters, Irene Buster of Anderson, IN, and Joyce Anderson of Monticello, KY; one brother, William Brown of Albany, KY; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and good friends, Judy Roberts and Debbie Justice.

In addition to her parents & husband, she was also preceded in death by a son in infancy, Samuel Jones; one sister, Florence Jones; and seven brothers, Arthur Brown, Neat Brown, Carl Brown, Roy Brown, George Brown, David Brown, and Jim Jones. 

Local arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. 

Out-of-town arrangements are being handled by Talbott Funeral Home, 1106 N. Cross Street, Albany, KY 42602. Visitation will be Friday, July 12, 2024, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Talbott Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 pm at Talbott Funeral Home with Dennis Irby officiating.

Rachel’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Albany, KY.
