Philip H. Seliger, age 82 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.
He first retired from Woolworth’s after a 21-year career, then became the owner of Steger True Value store in Steger, IL, where he worked for 19 years. He enjoyed woodworking and the Arts & Crafts Festival at Paris Landing State Park. He loved having Halloween parties for the neighborhood children and took pride in his yard. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Paris.
Philip was born July 24, 1935, in Marathon, WI, to the late George Seliger and the late Margaret Michlig Seliger.
He was married August 24, 1955, to Jean Ann Brandt Seliger, who survives, of Paris, TN.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by one sister, Ruth Volhard; two brothers, Hugo Seliger and Cyril Seliger; and special grandkids, Mae & Laura Whitby, who loved their Pappy; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Farrah; one son, Dennis Seliger; one sister, Hilda Lang; and five brothers, Leonard Seliger, Marvin Seliger, Arnie Seliger, Melvin Selger, and George Seliger, Jr.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Visitation will be Monday, June 11, 2018, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with the funeral mass to begin at 11:00 am.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Scott Whitby, Dr. Ray Compton, Clint Davis, and Dan Kapellen.
Burial will follow on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, in Calvary Cemetery in Steger, IL.
