Paul Michael “Mike” Wimberley, age 66 of Springville, TN, died Thursday, March 26, 2020, at his residence.
He retired after 46 years as a contractor. Mike was the former longtime owner & operator of Elkhorn Construction in Springville. He truly enjoyed his work and was a perfectionist, always wanting to be sure everything was done right. He loved the Elkhorn community and the people of Henry County. Mike was most proud of his grandson, Colin, and enjoyed talking to him as much as possible.
Mike was born July 30, 1953, in Paris, TN, to the late James Rufus Wimberley and the late Hilda Wells Cantrell Wimberley
He was married August 20, 1976, to Kathryn Austin “Kathy” Wimberley, who survives, of Paris, TN.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by his son, Jake (Katie) Wimberley of Inman, SC; one sister, Jacque (Phil) Copeland of Ft. Mill, SC; one grandson, Colin Wimberley of Inman, SC; special niece, Janan Jones of Pineville, NC; special nephew, Jason Jones of Charleston, SC; one great niece, Tennah Murphy; and one great nephew, Owen Murphy.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Bobbie Jean Hedges Parker.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN. The body is to be cremated with a memorial service being planned for a later date.
Named as honorary pallbearers are all of Mike’s friends in the Henry County Community.
