Patricia “Patty” Elaine Slaughter, 63, of Three Rivers, MI, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at her home unexpectedly.

She was born March 21, 1961, in Three Rivers, the daughter of Lawrence and Marion (Snow) Slaughter and graduated from Constantine High School with the Class of 1979.

Patty enjoyed cooking and baking, skills she initially honed at Meek’s Mill Café perfecting their homemade bread. After, she worked various jobs in different fields including home healthcare, manufacturing, and retail.

She had a green thumb and loved everything outdoors – gardening, hummingbirds, butterflies, flowers, and plants. She could also be found floating in the water on inflatables she got on clearance (another of her specialties) or riding around on a golf cart. Most of all, she loved her family, and enjoyed baking them her famous cookies and breads.

Remaining to cherish her memory are her father, Lawrence (Bev) Slaughter of Elkhart, IN; sons, John (Nicole) Redmond Jr., of Three Rivers, MI, and Cody (Marsha) Bryson of Paris, TN; daughter, Marisa (Joe) VanScoik of Sturgis, MI; grandchildren, Aeryn, Jonnie, Charleigh, and Hudson Redmond; bonus grandchildren, Will and Walker Carlton; brother, Scot (Stephanie) Slaughter of Paw Paw, MI; bonus brother, Alan (Patty) McMillan of Elkhart, IN; sisters, Trudy (Jeff) Morse of The Villages, FL, and Peggy (Marvin) Jarratt of Sturgis, MI; and bonus sister, Sue (Steve) Dolby of Goshen, IN.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marion Cole, and sister, Penny Slaughter (Ted Foote).

Arrangements are being handled by Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold Street, Three Rivers, MI 49093.  In accordance with family wishes, cremation will be conducted; private family services will be held at a later date.
