Olleen Jackson

Olleen Jackson, age 91 of Buchanan, TN, died Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at AHC of Paris.

She was a longtime member of Blood River Church of Christ and later attended Mt. Zion Church of Christ.  Olleen was a homemaker and a babysitter.  She enjoyed playing cards and taking care of her children.

Olleen was born January 2, 1932, in the Antioch community of Springville, TN, to the late Herman Thompson and the late Jozelle Blount Thompson.

She was married May 14, 1950, to William Warren “Billy” Jackson, who preceded her in death on August 22, 2000.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (David) Lassiter of Buchanan, TN; her son, Douglas (Debbie) Jackson of Buchanan, TN; two sisters, Mary Jo Hubbard of Buchanan, TN, and Carolyn Spurgeon of Union City, TN; four grandchildren, Rodney (Mendi) Lassiter, Renae Lassiter, Eric (Haleigh) Jackson, and Emily Jackson Broomfleet; and 11 great grandchildren, Billee, Bodey, Katie, Carly, Tori, Adyson, Zayne, Jocee, Haedyn, Mia, and Parker.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Glen Hubbard and Paul Spurgeon. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Friday, June 30, 2023, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with John Dale and Tom Sisco officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Lassiter, Rodney Lassiter, Eric Jackson, Bodey Lassiter, Zayne Broomfleet, and Tommy Hutson.

Burial will be in New Beaverdam Cemetery in Buchanan, TN.
