Norma Brown Steele, 83, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021, at AHC Clarksville. She is survived by her three children, Sharon Loveall of Paris, John (Kathy) Steele, Jr. of Paris, and David Steele (Sharon Silva) of Clarksville, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Monday, June 28, 2021, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Jeremy Loveall officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Loveall, Daniel Steele, Matthew Steele, Dawson Seay, Riley Jenkins, John Rob Robbins, Phillip Steele, and Dan Brown.
Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Paris, TN.
Norma was born in Henry County, Tennessee, on March 2, 1938, the daughter of the late John Foster Brown and Cornelia Routon Brown. She attended Grove School and later graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a degree in ornamental horticulture and landscape design. She had a long career with Midland Brake (now part of Haldex) and was the Director of the Paris-Henry County Heritage Center from 2008-2015. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Quota Club and Rotary Club. She was a former member of the Henry County Board of Education.
Norma was preceded in death by two brothers, Dan Brown and John Alexander Brown and her son-in-law, Mike Loveall.
She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Joy Brown, five grandchildren - Jeremy (Sarah) Loveall, Jessica Loveall Seay (Matt Childers), Matthew (Brooke) Steele, Daniel (Becca) Steele and Amanda (Mark) Rennie, and six great grandchildren - Riley, Anna Kate, Dawson, Harper, Mark and Allison. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of AHC Clarksville, Dr. Olaide Ajayi, Katie Johnson and the nurses and staff of Tennessee Oncology, Tabitha Austin and Dr. Jennifer Ellis of AseraCare Hospice, and the First Presbyterian Church Congregational Care Committee.
One of Norma’s favorite quotes was by Ralph Abernathy – “I don't know what the future may hold, but I know who holds the future.” The love she had for her family and friends will sustain us in the days ahead, but we will miss her more than mere words can ever express.
