Norma Jean Jones Treadway

Norma Jean Jones Treadway, formerly of Puryear, TN, passed away on Monday April 17, 2023, in St. Louis, MO, at the age of 91.

Norma worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years, retiring from Henry County Medical Center in 1996.  She loved her family and friends.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, and working puzzles.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Norma was born on March 10, 1932, in Leachville, AR, to the late Raleigh F. Jones and the late Eva Lorraine Nall Jones.

She was married in 1949 to James “Jim” Treadway, who preceded her in death on September 3, 1996.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen Sunshine; nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  Locally she is survived by one brother, Don (Barbara) Jones; one sister, Sharon Jones Roberts; brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Callison; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Sunshine; two sons-in-law, Willie Sunshine and Gary Sunshine; six sisters, Olive Mercer, Alvena Spitzer, Oleda Cole, Martha Malloy, Cheryl Ann Callison, and Clara Jones; and two brothers, Michael Jones and Thomas “Bud” Jones.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Kutis Funeral Home, Inc., South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, Mehlville, MO 63129, on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

Local arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  A graveside service & burial will be held Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11:00 am at Puryear City Cemetery in Puryear, TN.
