Nora Jean McCartney age 91 of Paris, TN died Sunday October 12, 2014 at the Rose Stone Retirement Community in Paris, TN.
Jean was married to Harlan McCartney March 22, 1946 and he preceded in death on July 9, 2012. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she belonged to the Lydia Dorcas Sunday School Class. She formerly co-owned McCartney Produce in Paris, TN with her husband for many years. She was a Lifemaster of the American Contract Bridge League. She was a past president of the Ladies Golf Association and the Ladies Bridge Association.
Jean was born June 3, 1923 in Bradford, TN to the late Rupert William Pate and the late Mary Pearl Wahl Pate.
Jean is survived by her One Son, Pate Lloyd McCartney of Brentwood, TN; Two Grandchildren, Meagen McCartney-Margolis of Los Angeles, CA, Lindsey (Joseph) McCartney DiDia of San Jose, CA.
Besides her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by a Son, Michael Harlan McCartney; Sisters, Thelma Grooms, Inez Thomas, Katie Lee Belew, and Hazel Wilkes; Brothers, Dale, Cecil and L.M. Pate.
Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 4 -7 pm Tuesday October 14, 2014 and after 9 am Wednesday until the service at 11 am Wednesday October 15, 2014 at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Trent Bullock, Paul Veazey and Larry Simmons will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jerry Bowden, Jim Adams, Steve Greer, Lee Greer, Phil Routon, and Don Davenport.
Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Paris, TN.
