Nelle Lankford Turbeville

Nelle Lankford Turbeville, age 91 of Paris, died Monday, February 19, 2018.

Nelle was a longtime member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church and was an excellent seamstress.  She formerly worked at Salant & Salant, Moody Wholesale Co, McKee Supply Co and Owens Supply Co.  She last worked as bookeeper at Paris Building Supply for many years until her health forced her to retire in February of 2015 at the age of 88.  Her Paris Building Supply family was her other family and working was her life.  She also loved working in her yard, mowing and trimming her hedge.

Nelle was born April 27, 1926 in Paris, TN to the late Sidney Hamilton Lankford and the late Erma Draper McCall Lankford.

She was married on December 14, 1945 to Archie Turbeville and he preceded in death on May 12, 1962.

She is survived by one daughter, Vicky (Bo) Sinclair of Paris, TN; one grandson, Garrett Ray (Erin) Sinclair of Springville, TN; three great grandchildren, Eliza Blue Sinclair, Hazel Louise Sinclair, and Stella Ray Sinclair; one sister-in-law, Sue Turbeville of Paris, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, Nelle was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mollie Comer, and Lorene Lindsey; and four brothers, Albert, Clark, Neely, and Smith Lankford.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 4 – 7 pm and Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 9 – 11 am.  The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Trent Bullock and Randy Stephens officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rowlett, Brent Dial, Larry Brannon, Nevin Miller, Bill Wilson, Bill Lutz and Stan Dunagan.
