Muriel Lois Norwood

Murial Lois Norwood, age 91 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, June 13, 2024, at AHC of Paris.

She worked for many years as a manager in the retail business and later worked as a sitter with the elderly in Paris. Muriel enjoyed life and loved people. She was a member of Ray of Hope Christian Fellowship. 

Muriel was born May 11, 1933, in Detroit, MI, to the late Henry Gauthier and the late Olga Stone Gauthier.

She was married June 29, 1974, to John Norwood, who preceded her in death on February 10, 1988.

She is survived by one grandson, Trevor Allen Walters; nieces, Holly Myers, Linda O’Neill, Sue Draper, Vicky DU’va, Renee Young, Denise Kowalski of MI, and Mana Cleaver of TN; nephews, David Edwards, Frank DU’va, Anthony DU’va, Stephen Ridal, Perry Ridal of MI, and Randy Norwood of KY; in addition to many great nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Allen Thomas Walters; her sisters, Mary Ruth DU’va, and Pearl L. Ridal; and nephew, Donald Edwards.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. The body is to be cremated with graveside memorial service to be held at a later date at Shiloh Cemetery in Mansfield, TN.
