James Murel Mead, age 77, of Springville, Tenn., died Friday, May 20, 2016, at his residence.
Born July 6, 1938, in Hamlin, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Edward Mead and the late Anna L. Lucas Mead. He married Martha Jane Sanders Mead December 23, 1974, who preceded in death July 25, 2008. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator from Memphis Stone Co., who attended the Henry County Tabernacle and loved to hunt and fish.
Survivors include: Three Daughters, Betty (Randy) Lambert of Springville, Tenn., Rita Sowell of Paris, Tenn., Delta (Kenny) Miller of Wilkesboro, N.C.; Four Sons, Ricky (Kelli) Odom of Springville, Tenn., James Mark (Brenda) Mead of Mansfield, Tenn., Brian (Nettie) Mead of Wilkesboro, N.C., Steve (Theva) Mead of Wilkesboro, N.C.; One Sister, Ethel Hoosier of Hamlin, W. VA,; a sister –in- law Shirley (R.T.) Bennett of Springville, Tenn.; 19 Grandchildren & 22 Great Grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death two brothers: John E. Mead and Garth Mead.
Pallbearers for the service are James Lagace, Kenneth Lagace, Josh Sowell, Dustin Odom, Matt Mead, Cory Miller and Travis Miller. Melvin Sander, Elvis “Red” Kennon and R. T. Bennett will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. - P.O. Box 788, Paris, Tenn., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 and on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, after 11:00 am at the Henry County Tabernacle. The funeral service will be held at the Henry County Tabernacle at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2016, with Dwight Turner officiating.
Interment will be at Henry Co. Tabernacle Cemetery in Springville, Tenn.
