Mitchell Anthony "Mitch" Claunch

Mitchell Anthony “Mitch” Claunch, age 62 of Puryear, TN, died Friday, September 22, 2023, at his residence.

He was a retired U.S. Army veteran, serving in both Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield.  Mitch enjoyed RVing and traveling around the U.S. and the world.  He loved college football, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.  He enjoyed music and Ford Mustangs.

Mitch was born February 17, 1961, in Cincinnati, OH, to Ronald Allen Claunch and Evelyn Leigh Nauglebaugh Claunch, who both survive, of Sarasota, FL.

He was married July 19, 1985, to his wife of 38 years, Julie Ann Ertzner Claunch, who survives, of Puryear, TN.

Along with his wife and parents, he is also survived by one son, Matthew Anthony Claunch of Omaha, NE; one sister, Linda (Chip) Holterhoff of Cincinnati, OH; one brother, Ron Claunch of Cincinnati, OH; and five nieces.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Robin Stark. 

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  The body is to be cremated with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
