Michelle Sarratt Milam, age 54 of Pontotoc, Mississippi, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Michelle loved Jesus, her husband, sons and their wives, her family, friends and even those she had just met for the first time. She lived a life of intentionality, sharing with those around her a beautiful smile, an incredible voice, and a heart of service. Michelle graduated from Tupelo High School, Tupelo, MS and Union University Jackson, TN. She served beside her husband in ministry both in the United States and 15 years as a missionary with the International Mission Board, serving in Porto, Portugal, a place she called “home”. Battling cancer since 2017, her theme was that “nothing be wasted”. That is how she lived her life, wanting others to see Jesus through her journey.
Michelle was born December 3, 1969, in Panama City, FL to Dan & Diane Hawkins Sarratt who survive of Rome, GA.
Michelle married her husband of 33 years, Andy Milam, on August 10, 1991, at Gibson Baptist Church, Gibson, TN and he survives of Pontotoc.
Besides her husband, and parents, Michelle is also survived by two sons, Micah (Caroline) Milam of Lexington, TN, and Ethan (Carolyn) Milam of Hickory Flat, MS; one brother, Russ (Rana) Sarratt of Rome, GA; her mother-in-law, Nancy Hopper Milam of Nunnelly, TN; two brothers-in-law, Steve Milam ,and Eric (Anne) Milam both of Nunnely, TN; one niece, Ridgley Sarratt; five nephews, Cody Milam, Craig Milam, R.J. Milam, Ryker Sarratt, and Rhettford Sarratt.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Rev. Jerry D. Milam.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN 38242. She is to be cremated. Her memorial visitation and Celebration of Life Service will be held at West Heights Baptist Church, 328 W. Oxford Street, Pontotoc, MS on Friday, September 6, 2024. Memorial visitation will be from 12 -2 pm Friday with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 2:00 pm Friday.
Her final resting place will be at Wrigley Cemetery in Lyles, TN with a graveside service to be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00 am.
