Melvyn H. Arnold

Melvyn Houston Arnold, age 79 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris, TN.

Melvyn was a member of East Wood Church of Christ.   He was an over the road truck driver for over 30 years and drove for Factory & Steel Transportation in Waverly, TN.  After retirement, he drove for Norwood Construction in Paris.  He enjoyed bush hogging on his John Deere tractor.

Melvyn was born November 9, 1938, in Bells, TN, to the late Thompson Lee Arnold and the late Florance Nichols Arnold.

He was married January 4, 1958, to Pauline “Polly” Valentine Arnold, who survives, of Paris, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by two daughters, Terri (Jerry) Peale of Paris, TN, and Sherry Robbins of Paris, TN; one son, Mark (Velvet) Arnold o Paris, TN; two sisters, Sara Spitzer of Huntingdon, TN, and Helen Laman of Huntingdon, TN; one brother, Barry Arnold of Seymour, TN; six grandchildren, Patrick Peale, Josh (Kim) Robbins, Amanda (Trent) Dicus, Colt Robbins, Kacey (Tommy) Tull, and Dakota Arnold; and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Arnold; and one grandson, Chase Arnold.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm,

Visitation will continue Sunday, January 14, 2018, from 12 – 1:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Sunday, January 14, 2018, at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Roger Banks officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Peale, Colt Robbins, Dakota Arnold, Tommy Tull, Trent Dicus, and Lynn Laman.

Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery in Paris, TN.
