Melvin Gene Phillips, III

Melvin Gene Phillips, III, age 42 of Springville, TN, joined our Father God Monday, February 12, 2024.

Melvin loved his kids and family more than anything.  He was a father to all.  He loved playing basketball with his children.  He enjoyed kayaking and looked forward to floating the Current River every year, riding his motorcycle, and taking pictures.  He loved nature and animals, the sky and the moon.  Melvin could and would fix anything for anyone.  To know Melvin was to love him.  He was employed with Bob Haepp Construction in Paris, TN.

Melvin was born October 6, 1981, in Berwyn, IL, to the late Melvin Phillips II, and the late Donna Francine Woods Phillips.

He was married September 9, 2009, to Landa Camille Phillips, who survives, of Buchanan, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by five children, Peyton (Carley) King of Hawaii, Addisyn King of Paris, TN, Willow Phillips, Lincoln Phillips, and Piper Phillips all of Paris, TN; one sister, Amy (Bob) Haepp of Paris, TN; two brothers, Richard (Barbara) Daly, Jr. of Channahon, IL, and Keith Daly Romeoville, IL; his mother-in-law, Karen Jones of Paris, TN; two sisters-in-law, Lesley Jones and Lydia Jones; one brother-in-law, Les Jones; nieces and nephews, Lathan, Courtney, Abby, Alleigh, Easton, Elliott, Ella, Bryana, Kennedy, Courtney, Evan, Lilliana, Leilani, Maddox, and Vella; and his sunshine, Erica Myers.    

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and will continue Sunday February 18, 2024, from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Bridge of Hope Church, 1575 Highway 641 S, Paris, TN, with Eric Kelleher officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Daly, Jr., Keith Daly, Bob Haepp, Peyton King, Lathan Allison, Eric David, Lincoln Phillips, and Chad Powlowiaz.

Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, TN.
