Melinda Gail Long “Mel” Mahan Flowers, age 57 of Paris, TN, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at her residence.
Mel was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Paris and was Baptist by faith. She formerly worked as a machinist at MAHLE Engine Components in Morristown, TN. She was also a licensed insurance agent and licensed real estate agent. In her later years, she loved working as a professional housekeeper. Mel enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, riding motorcycles, going to the Smoky Mountains, being on the water on Kentucky Lake, and traveling.
She was born July 10, 1967, in Morristown, TN, to the late Sharon Collins Long and David Long of Morristown, TN.
Besides her father, she is survived by her husband, David “Bubba” Flowers of Paris, TN; two sons, Ryan Charles Dean Mahan (Maddy Hitel) of Ringgold, GA, and Kiser James Mahan (Riley Sappington) of Paris, TN; one brother, Donnie (Angelia) Long of Morristown, TN; several aunts, uncles, nieces, great nieces, and two great nephews in Morristown, TN; and her dog, Dollie.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Her body is to be cremated. Memorial visitation will be Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 2 - 4 pm, with a memorial service at 4:00 pm with Chad Kennedy officiating.
Burial of her cremains will be in Bethesda Cemetery in Morristown, TN at a later date.
