Matilda Cain

Matilda Culpepper Cain, age 89 of Paris, died Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at her residence.

She was a member of First Nazarene Church of Paris, an avid golfer, and she retired after 17 years at Holley Carburetor of Paris.

Born August 17, 1931, in Big Sandy, she was the daughter of the late Roger Culpepper and late Luna Hawley Culpepper.

Matilda married November 12, 1955, to Bernice "Popeye" Cain, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her grandson Pepper Cain of Paris, and a niece Jeanie (Larry) Wilson of Paris.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Roger Lane Cain and Robert Cain, a sister Gerthel Pierce, and a brother Robert Culpepper.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. To honor Matilda's wishes, a private graveside burial will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
