Mary Henrietta "Maryetta" Summers

Mary Henrietta “Maryetta” Carver Summers, age 93 of Paris, TN, formerly of Hollow Rock, TN, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.

She retired after 29 years as a seamstress for Henry I. Seigel (H.I.S.) in Bruceton.  Maryetta enjoyed growing and gardening vegetables.  She loved quilting, sewing, and mending clothes for others.  She was a member of the Carroll County Home Demonstration Club and New Hope Baptist Church in Paris.

Maryetta was born December 28, 1925, in Vale, TN, to the late William Henry Carver and the late Veronia Arnold Carver.

She was married August 30, 1957, to Dewey Summers, who preceded her in death on April 3, 1980.

She is survived by one daughter, Grace Summers (Ray) Taylor of Paris, TN; one son, Danny (Carol) Fowler of Melbourne, FL; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elwood Carver and Buford Carver.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  Visitation will be Friday, June 14, 2019, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Saturday, June 15, 2019, at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Joe Page and Alan Trull officiating.

Pallbearers will be Brent Hedge, Clint Dorris, Mark Miller, Bruce Dorris, Sam Hedge, Jay Chandler, Brett Chandler, and Kenny Sherrod.  Named as an honorary pallbearer is Truman Hedge.

Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery in Camden, TN.
