Mary Helen Evans

Mary Helen Evans, age 97 of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at AHC of Paris, formerly Paris Healthcare Center, in Paris, TN.

She was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Paris.  Helen loved reading, was a good cook, and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to cook.

Helen was born July 30, 1921, in Buchanan, TN, to the late Ray Moody and the late Pearl Dodson Moody.

She was married December 30, 1944, to Eldra Hiram Evans, who preceded her in death on September 18, 1975.

She is survived by one son, Scott (Rita) Evans of Paris, TN; one daughter-in-law, Connie Evans of White House, TN; three sisters, Elnora Adkins of Paris, TN, Onita Cobb of Benton Harbor, MI, and Martha Landrum of Paris, TN; one brother, Leroy Moody of Stewart, TN; six grandchildren, Michael (Jenny) Evans, Tracy Hastings, April (David) DeBoer, Adam Evans, Tammy Walker, and Sherry Marshall; several great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Billy Evans; five sisters, Wilma Jackson, Velma Davis, Ann Hoffman, Elna Townsend, and Geraldine Williams; and four brothers, James Moody, Ronald Moody, Earl Moody, and Nathan Moody.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  Visitation will be Friday, May 24, 2019, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Johnny Farmer officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Middleton, Bruce Horne, Allen Landrum, Dale Horne, Michael Evans, and Colin Evans.

Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Paris, TN.
