Mary Alice Freeland

Mary Alice Henderson Freeland, age 100, of Paris, Tenn., died Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris, Tenn.

She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.  She was a homemaker and babysitter for many years, and she enjoyed baking gingerbread boy cookies.

She was born January 31, 1916 in Big Sandy, TN to the late John Thomas Henderson and the late Mary Ann Robertson Henderson.

She was married on April 13, 1938 to Edward Freeland, and he preceded in death on May 27, 1989.  She is survived by her  five Grandchildren, Sherry (James) Norwood of Paris, TN, Hope Houston & friend Justin Johnson of Paris, TN, Laura Freeland of Tennessee, Charles Freeland & friend Kelly Lytle of Medina, TN, and George Freeland of Paris, TN;  seven Great Grandchildren, Nicholas Muncy, Taylor Norwood, Addison Norwood, Paisley Johnson,  Bryce Freeland, Riley Freeland, and Channing Freeland.

Besides her Husband and Parents, she was also preceded in death by a Daughter, Margaret Alice Freeland (in infancy); Sons, Gary Freeland and Dennis Edward Freeland; Sisters, Minervia Henderson, Lindal Barnes, Alene Burnett, and Emma Hutson;  and Brothers, Elbert Henderson, Ray Henderson, and Thomas Henderson.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 11 am – 1 pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016.   The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016 with Mike Wimberley officiating.

Pallbearers will be Charles Freeland, Michael Williams, James Norwood, Nicholas Muncy, Tim Hastings, and Ronnie Burnette.   Juanita Freeland and the staff at Henry County Healthcare Center are named as Honorary Pallbearers.

Interment will be at VanDyke Grove Cemetery in Paris, Tenn.
