Mary Alene Sensing

Mary Alene Sensing, age 86 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, January 3, 2019, at her residence in Paris, TN.

She retired after many years in the manufacturing industry, last working for Holley Carburetor until its closing in 1987.  She was a hard worker and was valued at every job she had because of her work ethic.  Alene’s family was her world and cooking for her family was her passion.  She loved making a zillion of Granny’s cookies for every occasion and always enjoyed serving them to others.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, and traveling.  Alene was a lifelong Baptist and a member of First Baptist Church Paris.

Alene was born August 18, 1932, in Henry County to the late Edgar Lee Glisson and the late Dollie Violet Owen Glisson.

She was married August 3, 1971, to A.D. Sensing, who survives, of Paris, TN.

Along with her husband, she is also survived by one daughter, Jane (Joe Pat) Moody of Buchanan, TN; one son, Ricky (Linda) Nash of Henry, TN; two sisters, Margaret Marie (Richard) Nash of Indiana, and Joyce Ann (John) Harrison of Paris, TN; three brothers, Lyndol (Martha) Glisson of McKenzie, TN, Edgar Ray (Judy) Glisson of McKenzie, TN, and Dennis (Cindy) Glisson of McKenzie, TN; four grandchildren, Kim (Stephan) Watson of Paris, TN, Damon (Katie) Nash of Spring Hill, TN, Chris Turman of Paris, TN, and Mike (Kristin) Turman of Milan, TN; eight grandchildren; and special caregivers, Tammy Wood, Connie Hollingsworth, and Rebecca Raymer.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Helen Marceal Traywick.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Chad Kennedy officiating.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Watson, Flynn Watson, Damon Nash, Bob Bowden, Nick Nash, Chris Turman, Corey Glisson, Stephen Watson, and Lucas Watson.

Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Paris, TN.
