Mary Jo Lavender, age 71 of Paris, TN, died Monday December 5, 2016 at her residence in Paris, TN.
Mary Jo was a member of Puryear Baptist Church where she enjoyed Sunday School and working in the Awana program. She retired from Maytag in Galesburg, IL.
She was born May 23, 1945 in Galesburg, IL to the late Harold Leroy “Pete” Allen and the late Georgie Foreman Allen.
Mary Jo is survived by two daughters, Dawn (David) Ruggles of Puryear, TN, and Diane (George) Fitchpatrick of Galesburg, IL; four grandchildren, Courtney Ruggles, Erin Ruggles, Danielle Fitchpatrick, and Allison Fitchpatrick.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, James Lavender and a sister, Bonnie Jean Allen.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Memorial Cemetery in Paris, TN, with Bro. Mike Rhodes of Puryear Baptist officiating. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
