Mary Jo Hubbard

Mary Jo Hubbard age 95 of Buchanan, TN, died Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Patriot Healthcare in Paris, TN.

She was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ. She previously worked at Paris Florist and Uncle Lee’s before becoming a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed seeing friends and never met a stranger. Her pride and joy has always been her grandkids and great grandkids.

Mary Jo married Glendon V. Hubbard November 24, 1948, and he preceded her in death November 30, 2018.

She was born January 13, 1930, in the Antioch Community of Henry County, TN, to the late Herman F. Thompson and the late Jozelle Blount Thompson.

Survivors include her two children, Judy (Don) Cox of Puryear, TN, and Gary Hubbard of Jackson, TN; five grandchildren, Chad (Maria) Cox of Puryear, TN, Jeremy (Kasey) Cox, of Buchanan, TN, Marsha Jo (Bill) Mayfield of Ft. Pierce, FL, Melinda (Lorne) Halpenny of Winnipeg, Canada, and Kellye (Justin) Shaw of Jackson, TN; and nine great grandchildren, Avery Cox, Rush Cox, Makenzy Cox, Marshall Cox, Macey Cox, Lindsey Heath, Taylor Mayfield, Brenden Halpenny, Addison Halpenny, Carson Moore, Micah Shaw, and Kadi Beth Shaw.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter in law, Marsha Hubbard; two sisters and brothers in law, Olleen (Billy) Jackson, and Carolyn (Paul) Spurgeon; and a great grandchild, Ethan Halpenny.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./ P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with John Dale and Tom Sisco officiating.

Serving as pallbearers for the service will be Chad Cox, Jeremy Cox, Marshall Cox, Rush Cox, Carson Moore, and Justin Shaw.

Burial will follow the service in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
