Mary Vaughn Etheridge, age 85 of Paris, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at her residence.

Mary was a member of Como Church of Christ.  She retired after 25 years at the Paris Henry County Public Utility District.   She enjoyed playing bridge, loved crossword puzzles, was an avid Tennessee fan and loved to watch all kinds of sports.

She was born November 19, 1931 in Detroit, MI to the late William Richard Vaughn and the late Lillian Hart Vaughn.

Mary was married to J. Harold Etheridge Sr. on June 18, 1952 and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1997.

She is survived by two daughters, Melanie (Dan) Townsend of Paris, TN, and Renee (Brian) Caraway of Maryville, TN; one son, John H. (Jane) Etheridge of Paris, TN;  two sisters, Barbara Thompson of Jackson, TN, and Kay Carter of Seymour, TN;  seven grandchildren, Caleb (Heather) Townsend, Spencer (Kim) Etheridge, Nathan (Jessica) Etheridge, Blake Etheridge, Rachel (Sebastien) Solar, Joshua Caraway, and Kelsey Caraway; and seven great grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, Mary was also preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Vaughn.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where visitation will be Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 4 – 7 pm and Friday, November 17, 2017 from 11 am – 1 pm.  Her funeral service will be Friday, November 17 2017 at 1:00 pm with Rex Buford officiating.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Townsend, Spencer Etheridge, Nathan Etheridge, Blake Etheridge, Sebastien Solar, and Joshua Caraway.

Burial will follow in Puryear City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Como Church of Christ.
