Marvin Cole

June 6, 1933 — February 2, 2019

Marvin Cole, age 85 of New Concord, KY, died Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Shady Lawn Nursing & Rehab Center in Cadiz, KY.

He retired from General Motors in Michigan after a long career before moving back to Kentucky.  Marvin was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a member of the Paris Community of Christ.  He loved his farm, cattle, and pets.

Marvin was born June 6, 1933, in Pikeville, KY, to the late Oscar Cole and the late Ida Belle Snodgrass Cole.

He was married March 29, 1998, to Joye Snyder Cole, who survives, of New Concord, KY.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by daughters, Annette Cole Johnson of Arlington, TX, and Tresa Kay Ellis of Canton, MI; two sons, Steve (Diana) Cole of Roseville, MI, and Mark Dwayne Cole of Milan, MI; three sisters, Juanita Cole Rockafellow of Saginaw, MI, Sophia (Jack) Hall of Leesburg, OH, and Charlotte (Bill) Partin of Romulus, MI; a brother John Cole of S. Rockwood, MI; thirteen grandchildren, Emily (Michael) Anziek, Elizabeth (Michael) Stauch, Adam (Veronica) Cole, Alexis (Michael) Kurdziel, Jr., Danielle (Brandon) Wood, Stephanie Nicole Johnson, Eric Cole (Shannon) Johnson, April Wilson, Leta Wilson, Johnny Ellis, Kyle Ellis, Eric Cole, and Brandon Cole; eleven great grandchildren, Celia Anziek, Eleanor Anziek, Conner Cole, Cameron Wood, Dominic Wood, Briana Wood, Keira Wood, Shelby Marie Tucker, Jessie Smith, Kimberly Smith, and Isabella Smith; and one great great grandchild, Jax Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two daughters, Diana Stewart and Kimberly Wilson; three sisters, Dollie K. Compton, Ella Carroll, Mary Lou Tackett; two brothers, Oscar Lee Cole and James Edward Cole; and one grandson, Alex Davis.

Arrangements will be handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN, 38242.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 7, 2019, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Dale Gallimore officiating.

Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Garden.
