Martha Carroll

Martha Dell Rockett Carroll, age 88, of Dresden, TN, formerly of Paris, died Friday, October 28, 2016, at Weakley Co. Rehab & Nursing Center in Dresden, TN.
She was a member of Hodges Chapel Baptist Church in Palmersville, TN. Martha formerly worked at Teletype Corp. in Skokie, IL and was a retired seamstress from Kellwood in Greenfield, TN. She enjoyed singing, gardening, cooking, and especially her flowers.
She was born July 12, 1928 in Martin, TN, the daughter of the late Johnny Rockett and the late Vida McGowan Rockett.
Martha was married on December 8, 1945 to James William Carroll and he preceded in death on September 22, 2009. She is survived by her four daughters, Barbara Martin of Dresden, TN, Sandra (David) Smith of Dresden, TN, Patricia (David) Frantz of Paducah, KY, and Cindy (Roger) McPeak of Dresden, TN; four sisters, Lillie Mae Parrott of Dresden, TN, Carolyn (Jerry) Moubray of Dresden, TN, Doris (Bobbie) Powers of Dresden, TN, and Norma (Jerry) Redden of Dresden, TN; one brother, Jerrell Rockett of Dresden, TN; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ben Martin, brother, William Rockett, grandson, Richard Allan Lassiter, and great granddaughter, Joey Bree Wilson
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tenn. Visitation will be at Hodges Chapel Baptist Church near Palmersville, TN from 5 – 8 pm Sunday, October 30, 2016 and from 12 – 2 pm Monday, October 31, 2016. The Funeral Service will be at Hodges Chapel Baptist Church at 2:00 pm Monday, October 31, 2016 with Michael Brown officiating and Roger McPeak conducting the graveside service.
Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Crowell, and Rufus McPeak.
Interment will be at Blooming Grove Cemetery near Palmersville, Tenn.
