Mark D. Wood, age 53, of Springville, TN, died Friday, February 23, 2018, in Henderson County, TN, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He married Melinda Williams Wood November 7, 1992, who survives of Springville, TN.
Mark was a member of Sulphur Well Church of Christ. He was employed by Fed Ex, where he had worked for 29 years, first as a ramp agent then as a truck driver. Some of his hobbies included reading, playing video games, working puzzles, building models with Legos and working. Mark was a United States Air Force Veteran and will be remembered as man who always tried to do what was right.
Born March 30, 1964, in East Point, GA, he was the son of William D. and Margie Johnston Wood both who survive and live in Springville, TN.
Along with his parents and wife, Mark is survived by his three children: Megan Wood, Mason Wood and Michael Wood all of Springville; a sister : Donna (Randy) Stephens of Springville; a brother: Bill (Paula) Wood of Jonesboro, GA; his mother in law: Linda Williams of Springville; a niece: Lauren Wood; three nephews: Kyle (Jenn) Stephens, David Stephens and fiancée Ashley Clement and Richard (Sara) Wood and several loved great nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John T. “Tommy” Williams.
His body is to be cremated with a memorial service to be held Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 2 pm at Sulphur Well Church of Christ with Randy Stephens and Bob Palmer officiating. Memorial visitation will be begin at 12 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the church.
Honorary Pallbearers for the service are Joe White, Kyler Ainley, Michael Boelsteri and Ethan Boelsteri.
