Marie Watson

Marie Pebeahsy Watson, age 80, of Buchanan, TN, died Saturday 25, 2018 at her residence.

She was homemaker and member of the Post Oak Nazarene Church in Cache, OK. Marie was a member of the Native American Comanche Tribe out of Oklahoma. She enjoyed watching movies, cross-stitching and cooking.  Along with her husband, she was longtime member of the Paris Landing Community.

Born May 4, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel Nahdayaka Pebeahsy and the late Margeart Totite Pebeahsy.

She was married to William T. “W.T.” Watson February 14, 1961, who survives of Buchanan, TN.  Along with her husband, she is survived by,  two daughters, Janet Marie Barrett of Buchanan, TN,  and Karen Ann (Kenneth) Kelley of Europe; four grandchildren, Robert J. “Bobby” Barrett Jr., of Puryear, TN,  Thomas B. Barrett of Buchanan, TN,  Wm. Kane Kelley and M. Katie Kelley both of Clarksville, TN; three great grandchildren, Wm. Blake Barrett, Bradley R. Barrett and Briley A. Barrett.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Pebeahsy Love, and Rachel Totite Poco; and seven brothers, Hugh Pebeahsy, Milton “Beans” Pebeahsy, Frank Rush Pebeahsy, Charles Pebeahsy, Harold Lee Pebeahsy, Roland Gorkey “Corkey” Pebeahsy, and Simons Parker “Comanche Code Talker."

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where visitation will be Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and continue Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Thursday, August 30, 2018, at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Randy Stephens officiating.

Pallbearers for the service will be Bobby Barrett, Jr, Thomas Barrett, Kane Kelley, Kenneth Kelley, Blake Barrett and Tim Hester.

Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in the Paris Landing Community.
