Marian J. Buckley Holt, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, passed away on October 27, 2021, at age 85 in Strongsville, Ohio with family at her side. Marian left this world to rejoin her daughter, Julie, her stepson Kenneth, her first husband, Frank Buckley, her second husband, William Holt, her “little” brother Curt, and her parents, Dorothy and Joel. Marian leaves behind a legacy of devotion to her family and to her church communities.
Marian was uniquely talented at sewing and, in particular, quilting. She began and ran The Quilt Shoppe in Paris, Tennessee, where neighbors gathered to shop and learn from her. She was an active member of Sulphur Well Church of Christ as well as others throughout her lifetime. Marian’s love of baking and chocolate meant plenty of desserts for family and friends over the years, much to their delight. She collected her best recipes and those of friends in a published cookbook.
Marian leaves behind many family members she cherished and who cherished her: her daughter, Kay, and Bill’s children, Martha Olive, Reba and Betty Kay; her grandchildren, Lori, Wendy, Jenny, Valerie, Tracy, Joe, and Jeffrey; her great-grandchildren, Loralei, Tyler, Connor, Liam, Kaylin, Keira, Kelton, Rodney, Amy, Christy, Kimberly, Jacob, Caleb, Heather, Zachary, Holly, Haley, Delaney, Kalissta, Jeff, Victoria and Abigail; her nieces, Kris and Kerry; and her nephew, Brian.
Funeral services will be held at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris, Tennessee, on November 1, 2021, at 1 pm. Visitation will be from 11 am – 1 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Randy Stephens. Loving members of the family will be pallbearers.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris.
