Marguerite “Anne” Ray, age 81 of Puryear, TN, died Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.
Anne was a retired retail bakery cake decorator in both Murray and Paris. She was also a professional ballroom dancer and instructor at Thurman’s school of dance in Murray, KY.
Anne enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and singing. She sang in and directed numerous church choirs-always using her musical talent to serve the Lord. She was a member of Puryear United Methodist Church.
Anne was born February 29, 1940, in Bolivar, TN, to the late Russell Jacocks and the late Marguerite Stanley Jacocks.
She was married March 23, 1958, to her husband of 63 years, Larry Dee Ray, who survives, of Puryear, TN.
Along with her husband, she is also survived by one daughter, Annette (Roland) Alexander of Puryear, TN; two sons, Kevin (Beverly) Ray of Buchanan, TN, and Keith (Melissa) Ray of Puryear, TN; one sister, Rosemary (Bill) Southland of Brownsville, TN; seven grandchildren, Karamaneh (Woody) Winchester, Amber (Will) Ryan, Adam (Nikki) Ray, Andrew (Brittany) Alexander, Kasey (Jesse) Peirpoint, Kane Ray, and Briar Ray; and 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. A private family service will be held.
Anne’s grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will be in Puryear City Cemetery in Puryear, TN.
