Margaret “Peggy” Jackey, age 80 of Buchanan, TN, died Friday, February 7, 2020, at her residence.
She was a homemaker who formerly worked at Caster Knott in Nashville, TN. Peggy was a member of First Christian Church in Dover. Through the years she belonged to various women’s groups. She enjoyed country life watching her birds and deer in the backyard.
Peggy was born July 20, 1939, in White Plains, NY, to the late Henry Purdy and the late Margaret McDonald Purdy Ballard.
She was married December 8, 1961, to her husband of 58 years, George Jackey, who survives, of Buchanan, TN.
Along with her husband, she is also survived by one son, Brian (Lorilea) Jackey of Henryville, IN; one stepdaughter, Kimberly Jackey (Chris) Burke of Crawford, CO; four grandchildren, Kyle Jackey, Sarah Jackey, Lily Jackey, and Keegan Burke; and one great grandchild, Reagan Jackey.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Jeanne Purdy Hutcherson.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN, 38242. The body is to be cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 2:00 pm at First Christian Church, 235 Church Street, Dover, TN 37058, with Rev. Karyn Bogert officiating.
