Margaret P. Laster

Margaret P. Laster, age 86 of McKenzie, TN, formerly of Henry County, died Sunday, December 10, 2017, at her residence in McKenzie, TN.

She was a homemaker and member of Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in McKenzie.  She formerly managed the Dairy Cup in Routon.  She loved gardening, canning, reading the Bible, and enjoyed growing up on a farm.

Margaret was born November 4, 1931, in Mansfield, TN, to the late Riley Sanders and the late Betty Burnette Sanders.

She was married  to James “Jack” Laster, who preceded her in death on May 26, 1986.

She is survived by two children, Charles David “Blue” (Joanie) Lee of Paris, TN, and Joanie Moody of McKenzie, TN; two stepchildren, Danny (Debbie) Laster of McKenzie, TN, and Gail (Mark) Setterlund of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Hicks; one step son, Ricky Laster; seven sisters, Leara Wright, Ivaleen Smith, Lillian French, Eddie Smith, Iona Sanders, Retha Sanders, and Ruby Sanders; and five brothers, Raymond Sanders, Woodrow Sanders, Dan Sanders, Fred Sanders, and William Sanders.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where visitation will be Wednesday, December 13, 2017, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and continue Thursday, December 14, 2017, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Thursday, December 14, 2017, at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Dwight Turner officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Lee, Tim Lee, Mark Lee, Hunter Smith, Clint Daily, and Dominic Daquilla.  Honorary pallbearers will be John Snow, Dillon Davis, Derek Page, Jake Davis and Johnny Moody.

Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in McKenzie, TN.
