Lucille Lemonds Melton

Lucille Lemonds Melton, age 94 of Puryear, TN, died Sunday, December 6, 2020, at AHC.

She retired from Plumley Company in Paris after many years.  Lucille’s first job was at Woolworth’s in Paris and then she worked at Salant & Salant.  She loved gardening, quilting, and growing flowers.  She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Lucille was born May 20, 1926, in Buchanan, TN, to the late Dillon Lemonds and the late Nan Green Lemonds.

She was married March 14, 1953, to Melvin Melton, who preceded her in death on January 16, 2008.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Chris) Hendrix of Puryear, TN; two grandchildren, Michael (Jaime) Hendrix of Puryear, TN, and Amanda (Alan) Paschall of Paris; and five great grandchildren, Allie Paschall, Addison Paschall, A.J. Paschall, Sophie Hendrix, and Beth Hendrix; and nieces and nephews, Tommy Lemonds of Paris, Barbara Lemonds of Michigan, Linda (Darrel) Partin of Florida, and Robert Lemonds of Nevada.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Alma Lemonds; and four brothers, Paul Lemonds, Wayne Lemonds, Ernest Lemonds, and Verna Lemonds.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Wednesday, December 9, 2020, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Micheal Barnhart officiating.

Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.
