Lottie Smith

Lottie Smith, age 99, of Paris died Saturday, November 28, 2020 at her home.

Born April 12, 1921, in Henry County, she was the daughter of the late Shell Freeland and the late Pearl Davis Freeland.

She was married February 22, 1941, to Milton “Bill” Smith, who preceded her in death on May 11, 2001.

Lottie retired after many years as an employee of Holley Carburetor in Paris. She was a long-time member of the Church of Christ in Puryear and then later at Eastwood Church of Christ.  She enjoyed going to the Conger Senior Citizens Center for lunch and the daily activities with her friends, who were like family. She was recognized there as the oldest active member.

Survivors include, one son, Garry Milton (Barbara) Smith of Paris; two granddaughters, Shelley (Sammie) McCoy of Franklin, and Audrey (Thomas) Harrison of Big Sandy; five great grandchildren, Gracie and Sam Ross McCoy, Ryder, Gavin, and Willow Harrison; and three nieces, Jennifer Bullen, Sue Dale, and Anna Lou Hopkins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, William Michael Smith; one sister, Ruby Ray; and one brother, Novice Freeland.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Bullen, Clark Annis, Sam Ross McCoy, Sammie McCoy, and Thomas Harrison.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  A private graveside service and burial will be held at Puryear City Cemetery on Wednesday at 1:00 pm with Tellus Gallimore officiating.
