Lorene Miles, age 101 of Paris, TN, died Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
She was member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed volunteering with the Henry County Medical Center Auxiliary. Lorene worked at a plane factory in Michigan during WWII. She also formerly worked at the Shirt Factory in Paris, worked in the cafeteria at Cottage Grove School, and worked part-time at Veazey’s Store.
Lorene was born August 8, 1919, in Como, TN, to the late Wiley Ransom Owen and the late Lillie Bell Paschall Owen.
She was married on December 25, 1937 to Joseph Clarence Miles, who preceded her in death on August 7, 1980.
She is survived by one daughter, Jan (Ted) Neumann of Milan, TN; one son, Steve (Bonnie) Miles of Mission, TX; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Ron Miles and Bob Miles; five sisters, Mildred Winchester, Helen Franklin, Ocie Mae Winkle, Sue Bradberry, and one sister in infancy; and three brothers, Elton Owen, J.W. Owen, and Ernest Owen.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 29, 2020, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Trent Bullock and Tom Winchester officiating.
Family will serve as pallbearers. Named as honorary pallbearers are Scott Miles, Chris Miles, and Tyler Neumann.
Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.
