Longtime resident of Henry County, Martha Lorene Jackson, age 92 of Germantown, TN, died Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Apple Grove Assisted Living in Memphis, TN.
She was a longtime, active member of Paris Church of God of Prophecy. She retired from Walmart in Paris as the manager of the fabric department. She enjoyed gardening and hosting people in her home. She was a wonderful cook and loved cooking fried pies to donate to Henry County Helping Hands. She especially loved her French Bulldog, Geoffrey.
Lorene was born November 2, 1925, in Faxon, TN, to the late John Wilson Farmer and the late Cletus Ann Cooper Farmer.
She was married June 7, 1946, to Henry Veltman Jackson, who preceded her in death on August 1, 1984.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda (Larry) Crowder of Germantown, TN; one daughter-in-law, Angie Jackson of Camden, TN; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Andrew) Gardella, Kaitlin (Larry) Dunlap, Eric (Trisha) Jackson, and Amy Jackson; five great grandchildren, Lara Beth Jackson, Parker Dunlap, Kaylee Jackson, Henry Jackson, and Bridgette Jackson; and one great-great grandchild, Analeigh Jackson.
Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Johnie Jackson; and one sister, Jean McMillan.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28, 2017, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am, with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with David Allen officiating.
Burial will follow in Walker Cemetery in Paris, TN.
