Lois Hudspeth

February 1, 1929 — October 30, 2017

Lois Hudspeth, age 88 of Paris, TN, died Monday, October 30, 2017, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

She was a former teacher for the Henry County School System and retired as Supervisor of Instruction with the Henry County Board of Education.  She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Paris, TN, and was also a member of the Paris Quota Club.  She enjoyed traveling and painting, and also taught GED classes in Henry County.

Lois was born February 1, 1929, in Vale, TN, to the late George Washington Carter and the late Freda Dell Francisco Carter.

She was married November 20, 1980, to Grover Hudspeth, who survives, of Paris, TN.

Along with her husband, she is also survived by four children, Deanza (Gerald) Russell of Mayfield, KY, Diane (Danny) Lovelace of Milan, TN, Mike (Gloria) Hudspeth of Paris, TN, and Ronnie Hudspeth of Milan, TN; four grandchildren, Gina (Larry) Ing of Milan, TN, Michael (Dana) Lovelace of Atwood, TN, Josh (Jamie) Pearson of Paducah, KY, and Cody Hudspeth of Paris, TN; and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Compton and Josephine Yoder.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Wednesday, November 1, 2017, from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, and continue Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Thursday, November 2, 2017, at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Trent Bullock and Larry Simmons officiating.

Pallbearers for the service are Gerald Russell, Michael Lovelace, Cody Hudspeth, Jarred Davidson, Terry Brown and Lynn Compton.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.
