Linda Mitzel

Linda Compton Mitzel age 73 of Paris, died Monday, March 28, 2022, at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.

Linda was born July 1, 1948, in Paris, TN, to the late Irl Compton, Jr., and the late Lois Bernice Gamrath Compton.

Linda was married March 9, 1967, to James “Jim” Mitzel, who survives of Paris.

She was member of New Harmony Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching bible studies and Sunday School. Along with her husband, she enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing, and being outdoors. Linda loved bird watching and gardening.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Chris Mitzel of Paris; a sister, Andrea Kay (Thomas) Arnold of San Diego, CA; a brother-in-law, R. K. Fletcher of Cookeville; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Marcia Ann Compton Fletcher.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN 38242 will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held at New Harmony Baptist Church on Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 11 am until 1 pm. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022, at New Harmony Baptist Church at 1 pm with Chris Downing officiating.

In lieu of flowers, being a kidney transplant recipient, Linda requested memorials be made to the Tennessee Kidney Foundation at www.tennesseekidneyfoundation.org.
