Linda Mccarty

Linda Lou McCarty, age 79 of Puryear, TN, died Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.

She was a homemaker and a member of East Wood Church of Christ in Paris.  Linda loved her cats, enjoyed buying jewelry and beautiful clothes, and always dressed to the nines.  She was a true Southern lady who took great pride in the way she looked.

Linda was born September 1, 1939, in Henry County to the late Everett Melton and the late Bulor Lee Melton.

She was married September 7, 2001, to Edwin McCarty, who survives, of Puryear, TN.

Along with her husband, she is also survived by four nieces, Debra (Charles) Crutcher of Dover, TN, Brenda (Chris) Hendrix of Puryear, TN, Diane Jackson of Paris, TN, and Teresa (Donald) Merrell of Paris, TN; three nephews, Ranny E. (Stephanie) Hart of Buchanan, TN, Danny E. (Deborah) Hart of Puryear, TN, and Ronnie (Christine) Burnette of Mansfield, TN; and several great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Jean Burnette and Morine Hart; three brothers, Velnor Melton, JW Melton, and Melvin Melton; and one nephew, Jimmy Hart.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  Visitation will be Saturday, August 31, 2019, from 9:00 am – 10:30 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 11:00 am at Bevil Cemetery in Paris, TN, with Josh Manning officiating.

Nieces and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow the graveside service in Bevil Cemetery.
