Linda Scarbrough Cherry, age 66 of Henry, TN, died Saturday January 14, 2017, at her residence.
Born July 20, 1950, in Paris, she was the daughter of late Dave Scarbrough and Edith Robinson Bomar of Paris. Linda married Joseph Cherry June 14, 1968 and he survives.
Mrs. Linda, as she was referred to by many children, retired as the secretary of Inman Middle School in 2015. She formerly worked at Atkins Porter School and Peebles. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is also survived by three children: Marsha (Joey) Taylor of Paris, Suzy (Adam) Yost of Nashville, TN and Joe (Marcy) Cherry of Huntsville, AL; and one sister, Gail (Jimmy) Crouch of Paris, TN. Additional survivors include 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Ridgeway Funeral Home is handling her arrangements. Visitation will be held Monday, January 16, 2017, at the funeral home from 4 until 7 pm and continue on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 12 pm until 1:30 pm. Her graveside service will be held Tuesday January 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Rose Lawn Memory Garden with Rob Martin and Gary Collier officiating.
Pallbearers for the service are Danny Veazey, Josh Hendrix, Bob Markum, Emory Bradley, Brian Webb and Joey Brush.
The family has requested that memorials be made to the PSSD Family Enrichment Center, the “backpack program” 1219 Hwy 641 S, Paris, TN 38242.
