Lillian K. Baker, age 89 of Springville, TN, passed away on August 29, 2020, due to complications from pneumonia.
Lillian was born on December 3, 1930, in Chicago, IL, to the late Ludmila Alexa and the late Charles Alexa.
She was married August 26, 1956, to Edward F. Baker, who preceded her in death on March 4, 1981.
She was a vibrant woman with the spirit of a fighter. She was always ready for a laugh and brought a smile to all those who knew her. In earlier years, Lillian spent time crocheting Barbie clothes, scarves, and other items for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bingo and reading books.
She is survived by five children, David Baker of Dacula, GA, Janis (Gary) Gayer of Springville, TN, Sarah Baker of Reno, NV, Ed (Michelle) Baker of Lowell, IN, and Ben (Tammy) Baker of Winlock; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Richard Baker and Michael Baker; and three brothers Chuck Alexa, Ben Alexa, and Frank Alexa.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1, 2020, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Pastor Linda Hillard officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Antioch United Methodist Church, 3116 W. Antioch Road, Springville, TN, 38256.
Burial will be on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, in Holy Name Catholic Cemetery in Cedar Lake, IN.
