Lester Jorrey

Lester “Les” Jorrey, age 83, of Cottage Grove, TN, died Friday, November 17, 2017, at the Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
Born July 29, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late George Leonard Jorrey. Les married Sue Ann Bratton Jorrey August 10, 1955, who survives and resides in Cottage Grove. He was a retired truck driver from Paschall Truck Lines.
Mr. Les was a member of Bethany Church of Christ, a US Navy veteran and had formerly worked as a custodian at the Henry County Courthouse and Cottage Grove School.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter: Sheila Ann Jorrey of Paris; two grandchildren: Sarah Henderson accompanied by Jeremy Lamb of Paris, and Lisa Mabe of Oklahoma: and five great grandchildren: Levi Alan Henderson, Erica Rachelle Henderson, Trevor Owen Chapman, Trent Ian Chapman and Emily Nelle Chapman.
Along with his father, Les was preceded in death by a son: Keith Allen “Tex” Jorrey, a grandchild: Shayna Sue and four brothers: Lynn, Roy, William and Lee Jorrey.
Pallbearers for the service are John Smith, Buddy Kemp, Tim Lacy, Forrest Kemp, Chuck Wilson and Billy Smith.
Ridgeway Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. The visitation will be Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 4-6PM and continue on Monday after 9am. The funeral service will be Monday, November 20, 2017, at 11 AM in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with David Alan Jackson officiating.
Burial will follow with military honors in Bethany Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.
