Leonard Medlock

Leonard B. Medlock, age 88 of Paris, TN, died Friday, April 13, 2018, at his residence in Paris, TN.

He retired after many years as an educator for the Henry County School System, teaching both at Cottage Grove School and Henry County High School.  After retirement, he enjoyed farming and delivered the Paris Post-Intelligencer for several years.  He was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church for over 50 years.  He was a US Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict.  He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Leonard was born October 19, 1929, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Van Buren Medlock and the late Alma Robbins Medlock.

He was married June 6, 1965, to Brenda Marcella Glover Medlock, who survives, of Paris, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by three daughters, Lori (Victor) Brisendine of Paris, TN, Robin (Doug) Paschall of Paris, TN, and Christie (Bob) Safin of Paris, TN; one sister, Carolyn (Carl) Minton of Dyersburg, TN; six grandchildren, Christopher Brisendine, Kelly Jo Brisendine, Jessica (Wesley) Warren, Joshua Safin, Luke Safin, and Austin (Raven) Medlock; three great grandchildren, Madison Brisendine, Callie Warren, and Kingston Brisendine; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Sara Leona “Sis” Pinkston; and one brother, Earl Ray Medlock.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Mitch Fiscus officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Medlock, Joshua Safin, Luke Safin, Scott Jackson, Victor Brisendine, Doug Paschall, and Bob Safin.

Burial will follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery in Paris, TN.
