Lea Rae Taylor

Lea Rae Taylor, age 46 of Paris, TN, died Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN.

She was a teacher at Lakewood Elementary School in Paris, where she taught for 22 years.  Ms. Rae loved her students and teaching was her life.  She was a member of Birds Creek Baptist Church.

Lea Rae was born October 20, 1971, in Paris, TN, to Roger Taylor & Ruth Perry Taylor, who both survive of Paris, TN.

Along with her parents, she is also survived by one brother, Ricky (Pam) Taylor of Paris, TN; a cousin that she helped raise, Joseph Cooper of Paris, TN; three nieces, Reo Taylor, Amanda Holt, and Danielle Doogan; one nephew, Remington Taylor; one special aunt, Doris (Gene) Rich; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by one half-sister, Tina Lee; grandparents, Lou & Olin Perry, and Orville and Opal Taylor; and one nephew, Nicholas Hart.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Tuesday, August 7, 2018, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and continue Wednesday, August 8, 2018, from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm.  The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at 3:30 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Bro. Kevin Gallimore officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Gray, Joseph Cooper, Josh Warbritton, Mike Bell, David Weatherly, Caleb Grissom, and Remington Taylor.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ms. Rae’s Lakewood School Family.

Burial will be in Birds Creek Cemetery in the Whitlock community of Paris, TN.
