L C Harper

L C Harper, age 92 of Henry, TN, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at his residence in Henry, TN.

He retired after many years in the manufacturing industry.  L C was a U.S. Navy veteran and a licensed pastor in the Pentecostal Church.  He loved reading the Bible, listening to Christian music, and wrestling.  He enjoyed peddling glassware and talking on the CB radio under the handle “Hot Shot.”

L C was born November 27, 1925, in Paris, TN, to the late George Harper and the late Effie Clark Harper.

He was married July 5, 1946, to Dorthy Lorene Lee Harper, who preceded him in death on February 23, 2012.

He is survived by four daughters, Joanne (Ronnie) Tyler of Paris, TN, Carolyn (Paul) Tanner of Paris, TN, Sandra Ramey of Henry, TN, and Treva Stutzman of Henry, TN; three sons, Jerry Harper of Scotts Hill, TN, Terry Harper of Henry, TN, and Ned Harper of Henry, TN; two sisters, Eloise Ellis of Jackson, TN, and Shirley (Bobby) Morris of Greenfield, TN; one brother, George (Dorothy) Harper of McKenzie, TN; 32 grandchildren; 73 great grandchildren; and 29 great-great grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Ruth Bradley; two sons, Phillip Harper and Billy Wayne Harper; one sister, Faye Taylor; five brothers, James Harper, Raymond Harper, Billy Harper, Paul Harper, and William Harper; three grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where visitation will be Friday, August 31, 2018, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and continue Saturday, September 1, 2018, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Pallbearers for the service will be Aaron Lee Harper, Brian Stutzman, David Marrs, Chad Wood, Ricky Tanner, Randy Tanner, Eric Walker, Wesley Wood, and Cody Harper.

Burial will follow in Bevil Cemetery in Paris, TN.
