Laverne Mildred H. Freeland

Laverne Mildred H. Freeland, age 85 of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL.

She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Paris, TN.  She retired as the manager of Pic N Pay Shoes in both Paris and Clarksville, TN.

Laverne was born December 23, 1931, in Caraway, AR, to the late O.R. Hogan and the late Verna Lloyd Hogan.

She was married September 15, 1951, to Robert E. Freeland, who preceded her in death on July 22, 2003.

She is survived by one son, Dr. B. Steven (Dr. Cynthia) Freeland of Johnson City, IL; one daughter, Sharon (Tommy) Moore of Clarksville, TN; one sister Athelene Virginia Grimes of Albuquerque, NM; one sister-in-law, Juanita Freeland of Paris, TN; five grandchildren, Branden Freeland, Joe Abbott, Jr., Shari Michael, Brea Sherman, and Tiffiney Tabler; 12 great grandchildren, Tyler Abbott, Justin Michael, Matthew Abbott, Landyn Matthews, Wyatt Freeland, Sam Tabler, Branley Sherman, Briana Freeland, Jessica Michael, Madeline Freeland, MacKenzie Tabler, and Lani Sherman; and two great-great grandchildren, Parker Freeland and Oliver Feverston.

Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Swensen and Betty Baxter.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Saturday, August 19, 2017, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Roger Smith officiating.

Pallbearers for the service will be Tyler Abbott, Justin Michael, Branden Freeland, Matthew Abbott, Joe Abbott, Jr., Josh Tabler, Jessica Michael, and Sam Tabler.

Burial will follow in VanDyke Grove Cemetery in Paris, TN.
