Larry Joe Smith

December 13, 1957 — September 12, 2020

Larry Joe Smith, age 62 of Paris, TN, died Saturday, September 12, 2020, at his residence.

He was a silent partner at Wana Deal Thrift Store in Paris.  Larry loved the outdoors and loved animals, rescuing them and taking them in to care for them.  He enjoyed treasure hunting in antiques and going to flea markets.  Larry was a giver of himself and had a huge heart for children.  If anyone was in need, Larry was always there to help.  His heart was to give to those in need, the homeless, and the underprivileged.  He not only opened his heart, but also his home to many.  Larry was full of life and in his better days of health, if anyone was down, he was always there doing all he could to lift people up.  He could truly brighten a room with his presence just by walking in. Larry was known as the “rock” of his family, a name that was given to him by his mother.  He gave and did so much for so many and his life was a blessing to all who knew him.

Larry was born December 13, 1957, in Paris, TN, to the late Otis Chester Smith, Jr., and the late Wana Singleton Smith.

He is survived by three sisters, Delois (Pete) Capps of Paris, Gail (Barry) Roth of Magnolia, TX, and Tammy (Randy) Vinson of Paris; four brothers, Doug (Rhonda) Smith of Paris, James (Vickie) Smith of Sherman, TX, Donald Smith of Puryear, TN, Ricky (BB) Smith of Henry, TN, and extended brother and caregiver, Fain Damron ; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith of Hazel, KY;; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews; one daughter; one granddaughter; and one great granddaughter.
