Larry Edward “Rat” Myers, age 69 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.
He retired after many years in sales in the automobile industry. He was currently working at Hannigan Motorsports in Murray, KY. He was the former co-owner of Paris Tire Recapping, C & L Motor Company, and Paris Yellow Cab, and the owner of C & L Clean-Up. Larry was a U.S Army veteran serving in Korea. He was an elder and Sunday School teacher at First Presbyterian Church in Paris. He enjoyed traveling, motorcycle riding, and was an avid drag racing and motorcross fan.
Larry was born December 21, 1948, in McKenzie, TN, to the late Leon Myers and the late Clara Presson Myers.
He was married November 21, 1997, to Linda Johnsonius, who survives of Paris, TN.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Emily (Brandon) Vandrey of Omaha, NE; four sons, Todd (Betsy) Myers of Waterville, OH, Paul Berney of Knoxville, TN, Ray (Richar) Summers of Paris, TN, and Stark Summers of Paris, TN; eight grandchildren, Cody (Kelsey) Summers, Mason Summers, Evan (April) Summers, Evan Duncan, Lelia Summers, Bryce Krupka, Clara Webster, and Wyatt Vandrey; two great grandchildren, Reagan Summers and Harper Summers; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. The body is to be cremated. A memorial visitation will be Tuesday, November 13, 2018, from 9:00 am – 10:30 am at First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall, 105 S. Market Street, Paris, TN 38242, with the memorial service beginning at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary, with Rev. Carol Wade and Rev. Arthur Lodge officiating.
Named as honorary pallbearers are Darryl Moody and Billy Etheridge.
Burial of cremains with Military Honors will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Paris, TN.
